Why tee-cycle depot
Exceptional items for zero waste living.
tee-cycle depot is a local Vancouver upcycle company that turns textile waste into reusable household items to help you reduce your dependence on plastic. Made entirely from upcycled materials, our products are not only beautiful, but also unique, functional, and fun!
Textile manufacturing is the second most polluting industry on the planet next to Oil & Gas. When we treat waste as a resource, we can create more out of less! Excess materials need to be given a second chance at life before they end up clogging a landfill.
We make it easy to be eco-conscious and detoxify your lifestyle.
We’re always looking for ways to phase out unnecessary waste from our everyday lives, and through this endeavour we’ve created a line of products to help you do the same!
tee-cycle depot values an approach to zero-waste living that honours your time, your investment, and our planet. Using textile waste as a resource makes Mama Earth happy and will make your wallet happy too!
Our products are made from 100% second-hand, vintage, loved, upcycled materials or just plain waste!
When we say 100%, we mean it! Even our thread is found second hand! We source from a variety of different organizations including, Keep it Green Recycling, Our Social Fabric, Fabcycle, Urban Source, and Urban Repurpose.
Past waste, present taste.
We also accept donated materials that are clean and dry. Our biggest challenges are sourcing white thread and mesh for our laundry bags.
Because it’s not always easy to get what you want, but it’s worth the journey.
The Founder, Ellie Robinson
Ellie founded tee-cycle depot to help customers feel good about diverting waste and plastic from the environment. She believes local waste is a resource! If we use less to produce every day items, we want less from our planet.
After all, the most sustainable resources we have are the ones right at our fingertips.
When she’s not being a champion for the environment she’s working in the film industry as a costumer. Inspired by each film experience, Ellie has built up her knowledge of design, sewing, and general craftiness.
Every time she works in a new costume shop, you can find her knee deep, foraging for fabric scraps and off-cuts in an attempt to divert textile waste from heading to the landfill. She’s passionate for all things recycling and zero-waste.
